Various Events I've Participated In

Dedication Service - September 5, 2004 The very first thing I wanted to do after purchasing my Taylor guitar and before I ever performed or led in worship was to dedicate both my guitar and my ministry to the Lord. So, I asked my dad to do a dedication service for me. These pictures were taken by my friend Bree and our youth minister Billy.

Discipleship Now - February 25 - 27, 2005 I had the opportunity to mentor the youth of our church, Temple Baptist, during a Discipleship Now weekend. Fellow worship leader Joel Goddard led the music for the worship services.

Prison Prevention Ministries - May 13, 2005 (Friday) This event for the youth of Temple Baptist Church and other churches in the Dalton/Whitfield Co. area consisted of a night of games, music, and testimonies. Games were hosted by youth minister Billy Willis. The music was led by a band I play for at my church. Two people who have spent time in jail, one a former drug dealer and the other a former stripper, gave their testimonies. This event was to inspire youth not to get involved with things that will end up sending them to prison. These guys had some very powerful testimonies!

Constructors for Christ - June 20 - 24, 2005 (Week 1) Constructors for Christ is a non-profit organization that donates labor to build church facilities all across the eastern United States. This organization is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Ray Dilbeck, a member of Temple Baptist Church, has been the CFC site contractor for the last 28 years. I have had the privelege of serving with this group for two years. This summer, while taking time off to devote myself to ministry, I have volunteered for two of the five weeks. We were able to get the entire frame constructed during the first week.

Hamilton Medical Summer Picnic - July 9, 2005 This was the 1st Annual Hamilton Medical Center Surgical Services Summer Picnic, held in Sugar Valley, GA. Jody Mitchell, the newest member of our band, got us this gig. He works for the Surgical Services department at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, GA. We were very thankful for this opportunity to play as it gave us a crowd full of unbelievers. Everyone present got to hear what it was like to truly worship God with songs. I pray that God was able to impact lives through our music. We were so well received by group that we were invited to play again for their fall cookout. Keep your eye out for those event pictures coming later this year.

Constructors for Christ - July 18 - 22, 2005 (Week 5) The Constructors for Christ project this year was an educational add-on building to Middlefork Road Baptist Church in Luray, TN. This is the second time CFC has been to this church. Three years ago, the organization built the worship center to which the new addition adjoins. When we arrived Monday morning, the sheetrock had just been hung. By the time we left, the entire building had its first coat of mud. This was the last week of work by the Constructors.

Community Carnival - July 23, 2005 This was the first annual Community Carnival hosted by Temple Baptist Church. This event was free to the entire community. Some of the activities included a 24 foot tall inflatable slide, a dunking booth, games, prizes, and free food. Our band provided the live entertainment for the day. There was a great turnout, and we look forward to doing it again next year!
